How It’s Made: PvP Guild

The Grand Scheme / How This Shit’s Gonna Work

For me, I believe one of the fundamental facts is that you will have to cater to not only those who play everyday but to those who are a little less consistent in playtime. I also have always believed that a truly successful guild that will have longevity would be player driven and not only officer and guild master driven. With these two philosophies in mind, I have designed the guild I am envisioning here.

Take note that this page is still very much in-the-making still. I will let you know in a new post once we get more updates!

Ranks

Here is an overview of the ranks, followed by a description of their key roles that keep the guild active. The titles of the ranks of my own flavor, but of course you could change them to whatever you like.

God (Guild Leader)

This is of course the head hancho, the person who makes the final decision— but you already know that, and I’m not going to elaborate on the obvious things. That said, what makes this guild leader different from the rest is that he should not and if the guild were successful would not be in charge of single-handedly keeping the guild alive.

God’s roles include all that of lesser beings, but has the duty of appointing new god-like beings. Otherwise, he or she would simply be another active member of the guild who helps coordinate premades and pvp events.

God-like Being (Officer)

God-like beings are much like god themselves but are of course under his or her’s moderation. They help god keep a watchful eye on all the lesser beings and help seek out new members when they see them. They also delegate punishments and such if deemed necessary. As with all members, they are a part of the event making team too.

Batman (Coordinating Member)

Batmans are quite possibly the bread and butter of the guild. These are the people who have not only proven themselves to be capable of being trusted but successfully carry out guild events. These are the people who don’t make a guild event to go stomp some horde in Org and completely forget about it. They follow through, which has gotten them recognized with the branded seal of batman. Ideally members would look at the calendar and when they see an event made by this person, they can count on said organizer to be there and ready to lead.

Side-kick (Member+)

This is essentially a member rank that you would appoint to any aspiring batmans, or rather anyone who would like to be a part of making things happen. This would be a probational rank where you grant them the power to create guild events and assess how they perform. If they perform admirably, you bump them up to batman, or tell them that their super-hero powers still need time to fully mature.

Civilian (Member)

This is just a plan ‘ole member. They are the people who sign up for the events but don’t necessarily want to make them or don’t always know whether they will be able to have time to schedule things ahead of time, hence rendering them unable to do so. Do not underestimate the civilians though– it may be in your darkest hour that these brave souls may rise to the challenge.

Recycle Bin

This is the almost the equivalent of temporarily removing someone from the guild. Say someone who you normally play with is having a horrid day and is acting out, and you want to stop them from rampaging on people in G-chat but trust that they will cool off eventually, you might move them here, to the recycle bin. They cannot speak or see guild chat, or anything of that sort. You essentially strip them of everything but their guild tag.

This rank may be necessary for a pvp guild morso than a pve one due to the competitive nature of players. Emotions flare, and tempers burn hot, and people do things they normally wouldn’t do (say, rage on everyone).

Let Me Know!

If you liked this guild set up, and put it into action, I would love to know! Let me know in a comment and send me a link to your guild’s armory in a comment if you want! I would be most interesting to see how it works for you, and how you’ve adapted it to your own ideas too.
